Path of Exile: Setup a DNS on PS4 to get a Faster Stable Ping

Setting up a DNS on your PS4

While there's no guaranteed "fastest" DNS for everyone, there are definitely popular options known for speed and reliability. Here's how to use them on your PS4:

1. Choose a DNS Server
Here are some popular choices for fast DNS servers:
Cloudflare DNS: Primary DNS (1.1.1.1) - Secondary DNS (1.0.0.1)
Google Public DNS: Primary DNS (8.8.8.8) - Secondary DNS (8.8.4.4)
Cloudflare DNS: Primary DNS (1.1.1.1) - Secondary DNS (1.0.0.1)
OpenDNS: Primary DNS (208.67.222.222) - Secondary DNS (208.67.220.220)

2. Access PS4 Network Settings
Go to Settings on your PS4 main menu.
Select Network.
Choose Set Up Internet Connection.

3. Choose Your Connection Method:
Select either Use Wi-Fi (for wireless connection) or Use LAN Cable (for wired connection).

4. Configure DNS Settings:
Under Connection Method, scroll down to IP Address Settings.
Choose Custom.
Here, you'll see various settings. Leave most untouched.
Focus on Primary DNS and Secondary DNS.
Enter the chosen DNS server addresses from step 1.
For example, if you pick Google Public DNS, enter 8.8.8.8 in Primary DNS and 8.8.4.4 in Secondary DNS.

5. Save and Test:
Once you've entered the DNS addresses, move back up and select Next.
Your PS4 will test the internet connection with the new DNS settings.
If successful, select Save.

Important Note:
Changing DNS might not lead to a significant speed increase for everyone. It depends on your internet service provider (ISP) and location.
If you experience any issues after changing DNS, you can always repeat the setup process above and choose not to specify a DNS.
